The AIDS Network Annual Fundraiser: Walk Away from Stigma
You are invited to participate in The AIDS Network’s annual fundraiser and awareness walk! The AIDS Network is proud to present Walk Away from Stigma.
Every year our community comes together to show our solidarity with people living with, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. This event supports vital HIV/AIDS prevention and support services offered to the 1.5 million people living in our communities of Hamilton, Halton, Norfolk and Brant. Proceeds will also help other Network services such as harm reduction programs, Men4Men clinics, programs for women, queer and trans youth, and racialized communities.
This year our theme and our new campaign is Walk Away from Stigma. With enormous advancements in science, medicine and policy, we have the tools we need to end new HIV infections, to ensure full, long and happy lives for people living with HIV, to prevent deaths by overdose, and to safeguard the mental and physical wellbeing of all marginalized people. However, stigma remains the greatest barrier to our vision of a better future, fueling the marginalization of people living with, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. We walk to raise funds for our programs and services, but also to raise awareness. Join us in our Walk Away from Stigma!
